IFSU prexy gets fresh mandate

LAMUT, Ifugao – Ifugao State University incumbent president Serafin Ngohayon took his oath for another four-year term recently.
Ngohayon was sworn into office by Commission on Higher Education Chair Patricia Licuanan last week after the IFSU Board of Regents unanimously voted to give him a second term as university president.
He was appointed and sworn into office on Dec. 14, 2009 as IFSU’s first president by virtue of Section 9 of Republic Act 9720.
With the new term, Ngohayon vowed to continue leading the university towards becoming a center of development and excellence and an internationally recognized state university and college level 4.

During his first term, he facilitated the crafting, approval, and implementation of the IFSU Code, its development plan, university charter and its implementing rules and regulations; development programs, projects and activities and establishment of international linkages and networks, and other endeavors that steered the university to greater heights.
IFSU now focuses on the pursuit of excellence in five major areas: instruction, research and development, extension and training, resource generation, and administration and governance.
Ngohayon graduated magna cum laude with the degree Bachelor of Arts major in Psychology and finished Master of Arts in Teaching at Isabela State University, Echague, Isabela.
He also finished his Intensive Japanese Language Course, Master in Psychology and Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology in Hiroshima University, Hiroshima City, Japan.
