Ifugao State University to open new campus in 2015

AGUINALDO, Ifugao Dec. 11 (PIA) - - With the aim of delivering quality education at the doorsteps of the public, the Ifugao State University is set to open a new campus in this municipality next year.
IFSU President Dr. Serafin L. Ngohayon announced in a stakeholders meeting that 2015 is the most opportune time to open Aguinaldo Campus   given the  active support of the local government unit (LGU), provincial government and national leadership.
“I  want to fulfill the pledge we made to the people of Aguinaldo of opening an IFSU campus in the municipality,” he added.

The plan of opening an IFSU- Aguinaldo campus  is  supported by local officials of the province.
District 2 Board Members James Frederick Dulnuan, Nolie Maguiwe and Federico Jugiad committed to help in establishing the said campus.
Dulnuan pledged to allocate a portion of his fund while Maguiwe vowed to source out fund and try to re-align some of his projects for IFSU Aguinaldo Campus. Jugiad also  pledged to give scholarship slots to students who would enroll in Aguinaldo Campus.
The barangay captains of the municipality and other stakeholders   promised to support the endeavor of the university.
The  IFSU which has its main campus at  Nayon, Lamut,   has three other campuses in Lagawe, Potia(Alfonso Lista) and Tinoc.    
Meanwhile, three campuses of IFSU  surpassed the national passing rate (NPR) of two licensure examinations conducted by the Professional Regulation Commission recently.
IFSU campuses in Alfonso Lista (90%) and Lamut (78.95%) towns  got a combined general average of 84.47%   in the  November 2014 Midwife Board Examination surpassing  the NPR of  50.61% .
In the August 2014 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET), Lagawe campus  got a  72.41% passing rate, IFSU Main Campus - 58% and Potia Campus with 85%. LET-elementary NPR is 35.74%
For LET-secondary, NPR  is 34.41%. It is  surpassed by Lagawe Campus with 47.62%, IFSU Main Campus - 58.11%, and Potia Campus - 62.50%. (JDP/ MBL- PIA CAR, Ifugao with report from IFSU)
